Uruguay participated in the APAS Show, a significant event for the supermarket sector in Latin America, held in São Paulo, Brazil. This marked the third consecutive year of Uruguay's involvement, highlighting its strategy to internationalize the food and beverage sector. The country presented itself as a strategic partner focusing on quality, traceability, and food innovation.
The event was coordinated by Uruguay XXI, the Uruguayan Chamber of Industries, and the Consulate in São Paulo. Various Uruguayan companies showcased products ranging from preserves and sweets to beverages and gluten-free foods. On average, each company generated 14 relevant business contacts with Brazilian and regional supermarket chains.
Fourteen Uruguayan companies from the food and beverage sector formed part of the delegation. These included Avanti (frozen pasta), UYTuna (canned tuna), Portezuelo (alfajores), Los Nietitos (sweets), Vitanna (brandy), Saac (liqueurs), Betabel (hummus), Celisano (gluten-free foods), Sacro (gin and vodka), La Trigueña (cookies), Pontevedra (sauces), Belnova (fish), Farming (cheeses), and Postres Olaso (desserts).
