On May 19, Paraguay celebrated its National Day at Expo Osaka 2025. The event highlighted the cultural, historical, and economic aspects of the South American nation. Vice Minister Javier Viveros was present alongside President Santiago Peña and other national authorities.

The celebration featured a lively artistic presentation that included traditional Paraguayan dances and costumes. Attendees were drawn into the country's music and folklore through these performances.

In his address, President Peña Nieto spoke about the shared values between Paraguay and Japan. He emphasized their historic friendship, Paraguay's dedication to clean energy, macroeconomic stability, and its significant role in global food production for over 80 million people.

A highlight of the day was the unveiling of the pavilion "Ikigai Paraguay: Energy that Connects." This space embodies life's purpose by connecting Paraguay's history with innovation and future aspirations. It draws inspiration from Japanese ikigai philosophy to showcase resilience and sustainable growth.

President Peña also honored the nikkei community in Paraguay for serving as a cultural bridge between both nations. He noted the upcoming 90th anniversary of Japanese migration to Paraguay and thanked Paraguayan citizens in Japan for maintaining their traditions while integrating into Japanese society.
