Brazil’s TV Bandeirantes said it will be expanding its use of Harmonic Inc. infrastructure as it adds the new Harmonic MediaGrid shared storage system and Spectrum MediaCenter server with integrated storage.
"Over the past eight years working with Harmonic and the company's solutions, we have established a strong relationship that has enabled us to make the most of our media server and storage systems," TV Bandeirantes Chief Technology Officer Jose Chaves Felippe de Oliveira said. "When the time came to expand, we evaluated the company's current offerings and found that its Spectrum server solutions still came out ahead of the competition. Given the ease with which we could grow our existing MediaGrid storage system, it was an easy decision to move forward and build on our Harmonic architecture. The technology is robust, straightforward and easy to use, and it enables a flexible, streamlined production and playout workflow."
TV Bandeirantes expects the new systems to enhance its news production capabilities while adding the ability to store footage.
"Harmonic video infrastructure is designed to enable users to realize the end-to-end workflows that best suit their technical and business goals," Harmonic Regional Vice President of Sales for Latin America Alvaro Martin said. "Offering exceptional reliability and enabling seamless interoperability with other key broadcast systems, the new Spectrum MediaCenter and Harmonic MediaGrid systems being installed at TV Bandeirantes will provide a solid yet versatile foundation for the company as it enters into a new phase of growth."
