Petrobras is set to participate in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2025, taking place from May 5 to May 8 in Houston, USA. The event is recognized as the largest global conference for the deepwater oil and gas industry, bringing together leaders, experts, and companies annually to discuss key innovations and challenges in offshore industries.
The conference will commence on Monday, May 5, with Petrobras President Magda Chambriard attending the opening session at 9 a.m. local time. Her invitation to the inaugural ceremony underscores Petrobras's significant role in the global energy landscape during a period of profound transformations in the offshore industry.
Later that day at 2 p.m., President Magda will return as a keynote speaker for the panel “Setting the Scene in Brazil: An Anticipation of What Is Coming.” Following her presentation, Renata Baruzzi, Director of Engineering, Technology and Innovation at Petrobras, will participate in a discussion on opportunities within Brazil's offshore market. This session will highlight exploratory area auctions, decommissioning processes, and emerging energy sources.
Also on Monday, Lilian Barreto, Executive Manager at Cenpes, will join the panel “Innovative Strategies and Industry Perspectives: A Dialogue with Offshore Technology Leaders” at 10:30 a.m. This session aims to bring together global leaders to explore disruptive solutions through research and development.
On Tuesday, May 6, Carlos Castilho, General Manager of Decommissioning Projects at Petrobras, will deliver a talk titled “Beyond the Horizon: Innovating Offshore Decommissioning for a Sustainable Future” at 12:30 p.m. He will discuss Petrobras's commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions for platform end-of-life cycles.
Additionally on Tuesday at 2 p.m., Sylvia Anjos, Director of Exploration and Production at Petrobras, will participate in the panel “Unlocking Frontier Areas for Energy Transition: Opportunities, Innovative Solutions, and Risk Mitigation.” This discussion will cover topics such as risk mitigation strategies and technological solutions aimed at energy transition.
Petrobras holds significant visibility at OTC due to its repeated recognition for technological innovations implemented in offshore projects. The company has been awarded five times with the Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies—the highest technical award of OTC—and twice recognized with the top award from the Brazilian edition of the conference.
