Emirates Airlines & Group has announced it will start a new daily service to Panama City that will offer 15 tons of cargo space and 266 seats, including additional eight in first class and 42 in business.
“Panama City will be our first destination gateway in Central America, offering our passengers a convenient option of traveling from or through our international hub in Dubai and further to destinations throughout Central America, the Caribbean and the northern part of South America,” Emirates Airline and Group Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said. “We’re also thrilled to be the only commercial airline to offer a daily, first-class service to travelers on what will become the world’s longest nonstop flight.”
Planes will be going to and from Tocumen International Airport.
At 17 hours, 35 minutes in the westbound direction, this service will set a world record as the longest nonstop daily commercial flight.
With its major tourism industry and critical location between North and South America, both Panama and the Emirates Airlines will benefit from this partnership. Its other industries, such as international banking and international commerce, will also benefit heavily as imports of machinery products, pharmaceuticals, electronics and metal rods increase.
