International Lithium provides update on Argentinian project

International Lithium, a lithium resource developer, recently provided an update on ongoing work at its Mariana lithium-potash brine project in Argentina.

The Canadian company said a 561-foot core recovery drill hole was completed in Salar de Llullaillaco, approximately 66 feet from a reverse circulation drill hole. The new drill hole confirmed the presence of two aquifers, one 98 feet from the surface and the other 174 to 390 feet from the surface.

Analytical results from the most recent drill hole are similar to those from a 2012 drill project, the company said. For example, the interval from 21 to 366 feet averages 318 mg/L lithium, 9,255 mg/L potassium and 605 mg/L boron.

Analytical results taken during the pump tests remained consistent even after long periods of pumping, which  further supports the concept that metal concentrations within Salar de Llullaillaco may be homogenous over a large area.

Located in South America's Lithium Belt, the Mariana project spans 39,536 acres in one of the more promising salt lakes in the region.
