Thermal solutions provider Hanon Systems will open a new plant in Monterrey, Mexico, in the second quarter of 2016, strengthening the company's growth strategy of supporting global vehicle manufacturers.
The new manufacturing facility, Climate Systems Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., will manufacture heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units and cooling modules for various new Kia models.
With almost 8,300 square meters of manufacturing space incorporating standardized global manufacturing and business processes, the site will offer room for expansion to address future business needs.
"We are pleased to grow alongside Kia Motors in Mexico, and further expand the Hanon Systems global footprint in this important region," In-Young Lee, Hanon Systems president and CEO, said. "Expanding into Monterrey strategically enables Hanon Systems to support vehicle manufacturers from virtually anywhere in Mexico."
With the addition of the Monterrey facility, Hanon Systems will have six manufacturing operations in Mexico – four in Ciudad Juarez, one in northern Mexico and one in Queretaro, central Mexico.
Hanon Systems is a full-line supplier of automotive thermal management components based in Daejeon, Korea.
