Fuddruckers opened its first restaurant in Colombia Thursday as a result of a partnership with Venezuela-based Grupo Char's.
"We're thrilled to premiere the first of what we hope will be many Fuddruckers restaurants in Colombia with Grupo Char's and excited to bring a home of the 'World's Greatest Hamburgers' to a prime spot in Bogota," Peter Tropoli, chief operating officer of Luby's, Inc., said.
The restaurant, which is almost 2,000 square feet, has an American-style interior and accommodates 96 guests. Fuddruckers is known for its signature burgers that are grilled-to-order and fresh local beef. The establishment will also offer sandwiches and salads.
The Colombian venue is the second South American location for Fuddruckers, which opened a restaurant in Santiago, Chile, in 2014.
Grupo Char's is family-owned, counting automotive franchises and businesses in the tourism, hospitality, construction, finance, insurance and consulting industries among its holdings. Grupo Char’s will add local flavors to the new restaurant, which will be operated by family members and investors Lina Chaar and Nidal El Herfaoni.
