Orvana Minerals Corp. recently announced that it is on schedule with its life extensions activities taking place at Don Mario Mine and the company’s evaluation for recommissioning its current CIL circuit.
The Don Mario Mine is located in Bolivia. Orvana estimates that it will release its mineral resource estimates by the end of September. The estimates are currently under the preparation and management of Mercator Geological Services Ltd., according to CIM Definition Standards for Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves and National Instrument 43-101 for every Lower Mineralized Zone pushback as well as the Cerro Felix deposit.
In addition, the company plans to offer operational updates concerning its El Valle Mine located in Spain. This mine will also meet the new 2015 guidance standards.
Between 2009 and 2011, Don Mario produced an average of more than 420,000 ounces of gold with an average recovery exceeding 80 percent from the CIL circuit. The circuit was decommission in 2011. In 2012, the company began to process ore taken from the Upper Mineralized Zone using flotation-only, which produced a copper concentrate as well as a gold concentrate. Between January and September of 2015, the company’s average recovers for copper stood at 76 percent, with silver at 63 percent and gold at 54 percent.
