The world’s leading manufacturer of recreational marine propulsion engines, Mercury Marine, has opened a new training center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The million-dollar training center is designed to offer a world-class learning environment for dealer and service center technicians. The 5,3000-square-foot facility is equipped with electronic diagnostic tools, computers and processes that highlight the company’s commitment to the environment.
“The main goal of this facility is to provide high quality service training for our customers,” Bill Gress, president of Mercury Marine South America, said. “We are achieving this by providing an environment where students can have more interaction with our product and learn effectively about the operation and maintenance of Mercury engines. So far, we’ve already had seven courses and the feedback has been tremendous.”
Before the training center was open in Brazil, the nearest was in Mexico. Not only was the distance a hindrance to training, but the difference in languages was also a factor in preventing dealers the opportunity for valuable courses.
Classes at the Rio de Janeiro facility are taught in several languages, met to the specific dealers’ needs.
