The CMA CGM Cayenne, the first vessel of CMA CGM Group's GUYANAMAX three-vessels series, was delivered on July 21.

Built and delivered by the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea, the 623-foot-long vessel is 98 feet wide and has a 2,100 TEU container capacity.

Sailing under the United Kingdom's flag, the ship will be positioned on the North Europe French Guiana North Brazil line. During its 42-day rotation, it will call on Algeciras, Spain; Rotterdam, The Netherlands; Tillbury, England; Rouen and Le Havre, France; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Port of Spain in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; Degrad des Cannes in French Guiana; and Belem, Fortaleza and Natal in Brazil.

The vessel is the first of three GUYANAMAX to join the 465-vessel CMA CGM fleet. The CMA CGM Marseille and the CMA CGM Saint Laurent are scheduled to join the Cayenne on the North Europe French Guiana North Brazil line over the next two months.

The new ships include the latest environmental technologies in order to reduce their C02 emissions. Features of the Cayenne include new bulbous bow shapes improving the hydrodynamics of the vessel at a speed of 16 to 18 knots; an electronically controlled long-stroke engine; a twisted leading edge rudder with bulb; and a ballast water treatment system.
