American Airlines recently announced that it intends to make an additional eight new routes available throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America later in 2015; this move helps the airline strengthen its presence in these areas and offer customers more options as they travel.
The new destinations include General Rafael Buelna International Airport (MZT) in Mazatlan, Mexico; Mexico City International Airport (MEX); Curaçao International Airport (CUR), Curaçao; Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), Dominican Republic; Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) in Quito, Ecuador; and Gregorio Luperon International Airport (POP) in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. All of these new routes are waiting for regulatory approvals.
Additionally, the airlines will reinstate the service between Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) in Caracas, Venezuela, and John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York.
"As the premier carrier to Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America with flights to 85 destinations, these additions highlight our commitment to providing our customers with a network that is second to none," Art Torno, American Airlines' senior vice president for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America, said. "We are committed to each country we serve, and these new routes allow us to contribute to and further promote travel and tourism to and from the region."
