The World Bank has released the 2026 edition of its study “Women, Business and the Law,” which evaluates how laws, regulations, and policies affect women’s economic opportunities and private sector development in 190 economies. The Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios (CAC) participated in the project.
The research is based on eight indicators: mobility, workplace, pay, marriage, parenthood, entrepreneurship, labor activity, and retirement pension. These indicators reflect women’s interactions with the legal framework throughout their careers and align with major economic decisions made at different stages of life.
According to the World Bank, the findings are intended to help countries identify reform opportunities that can unlock economic potential and drive job creation as well as economic growth.
Tamara Quiroga, an advisor to CAC and a member of the Board of Directors at Asociación Iberoamericana de Mujeres Empresarias (AIME), contributed again as a legal expert for Argentina. She stated: “Since 2015, the Chamber has been making technical contributions with the aim of improving understanding of Argentina’s legal environment and promoting opportunities that contribute to growth in the productive sector.”
The full 2026 study is available online along with coverage of its launch event held at World Bank headquarters on February 24.
