Uruguay XXI and Cubo Itaú announced on March 13 the signing of a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening the innovation ecosystem and promoting the internationalization of Uruguayan companies, with a focus on attracting foreign investment from Brazil.

The agreement is part of Uruguay XXI’s broader strategy to promote the country internationally, particularly through its Brazil Plan, which seeks to deepen ties with key regional partners and leading technology players. This partnership aims to connect startups, corporations, and investors from both countries.

Cubo Itaú, founded in Brazil in 2015, is recognized as one of Latin America’s most prominent innovation hubs. In 2024, it expanded regionally by opening its first location outside Brazil in Montevideo. This move positions Uruguay as a platform for connecting innovation ecosystems across Latin America.

The relationship between Uruguay XXI and Cubo Itaú has developed over several years through joint initiatives focused on international promotion, investment attraction, and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Notable collaborations include participation in major technology events such as South Summit Brazil and Web Summit Rio. Other efforts include public–private collaborations like the Uruguay Networking Sessions during Punta Tech Meetup in Punta del Este, which gathered more than a hundred leaders from the entrepreneurial and investment sectors. The Sprint UY program was also highlighted as an initiative designed to introduce international startups to Uruguay’s innovation environment.

Additionally, meetings with international delegations and sector-focused events at Cubo Itaú have provided platforms for Uruguay XXI to promote the country as a hub for business, innovation, and technological development.

Through this formalized agreement, both organizations plan to expand their joint agenda with new initiatives aimed at attracting foreign companies, supporting local entrepreneurs, and advancing the international growth of Uruguayan startups.
