The Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso in Cuenca announced on April 8 that twin infants from the canton of Taisha, Morona Santiago province, are showing favorable health progress following specialized medical care.

The twins, who are two months old, were admitted to the hospital with severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. The girl was transferred on April 2 from the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital of IESS-Cuenca and has remained in hospitalization. Her brother had been receiving care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit but has now improved enough to leave critical care.

Hospital officials said both children are now together in a pediatric ward room and are stable. This arrangement is part of an institutional commitment to support the emotional well-being of patients and their families by providing comprehensive and humanized care.

The hospital reports that both twins will continue their recovery under close medical supervision as they remain hospitalized. Medical staff have provided timely and specialized attention throughout their treatment process.

According to statements released by the institution, “Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso provides comprehensive care with a highly trained professional team, ensuring necessary support for the full recovery of pediatric patients.”
