TomTom, a leading GPS system, unveiled turn-by-turn navigation maps for 13 more countries this week, including several Latin American nations.
With the addition, TomTom’s global map database now covers over 28.3 million miles worldwide, serving 4.3 billion people. The global map enhancements include turn-by-turn directions for several Latin American countries including Peru, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador.
“The addition of nearly 3 million kilometers of roads in one year demonstrates TomTom’s commitment to geo-expansion,” Charles Cautley, managing director of TomTom Maps, said. “We rely on intelligent map-making and our transactional map-making engine to continuously deliver map updates around the globe, increasing coverage and improving map features for all business customers.”
