Luis Cabezas-Klaere, superintendent of the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance, participated as a panelist on March 19 at the fourth edition of the “Gender Equity” Forum organized by the Ecuadorian-British Chamber of Commerce in Guayaquil.
The event was part of a program held in two cities: Quito on March 17 and Guayaquil on March 19. The forum brought together representatives from the public and private sectors as well as international organizations to discuss progress and challenges related to equal opportunities within corporate environments.
During the discussions, participants addressed topics such as women’s presence in leadership positions, implementation of policies aimed at promoting equity, and the role institutions play in building more inclusive workplaces within the productive sector.
Cabezas-Klaere presented information about women’s participation in company structures across Ecuador, highlighting their roles both in legal representation and shareholder composition. He said data shows an increasing female presence in economic activities and their contribution to national development.
“It is essential that women continue strengthening their education, taking on new challenges, and contributing innovative proposals. Professional growth allows for consolidating female leadership based on skills, preparation, and perseverance, contributing to fairer, more inclusive, and competitive business environments,” Cabezas-Klaere said.
The forum underscored ongoing efforts to promote gender equity within Ecuador’s business community.
