Luis Cabezas-Klaere, Superintendent of Companies, Securities and Insurance, attended the military ceremony marking the 197th anniversary of the Battle of Tarqui and the Day of the Ecuadorian Army. The event took place at the Eloy Alfaro Military Academy in Quito.
The ceremony was attended by President Daniel Noboa Azín, state officials from various branches, government ministers, and senior military leaders. During the event, tributes were paid to the heroes of Tarqui. Military units received merit decorations, young flag bearers were recognized, and an honor parade was held to demonstrate discipline and commitment.
The event highlighted values such as honor, civic duty, and national unity. Attendees remembered the historical events of February 27, 1829—the date of the Battle of Tarqui—which played a key role in defending sovereignty and strengthening Ecuador’s statehood.
According to the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance: “With its presence, the Superintendence joins in recognizing the Ecuadorian Army for its ongoing work in defending national security and pays tribute to those who led the historic Battle of Tarqui, whose legacy continues to inspire commitment to our country.”
