Luis Cabezas-Klaere, superintendent of the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance, attended a discussion titled “Strategic Cybersecurity: Building National Capacities” on April 15. The event was organized by the United States Embassy in Ecuador and Fortinet and brought together officials from regulatory institutions as well as representatives from both the public and private sectors.

The purpose of the meeting was to create a space for dialogue about major trends and challenges in cybersecurity. Organizers aimed to promote the exchange of experiences among different stakeholders involved in digital security.

Participants agreed that both public institutions and private companies face similar risks regarding potential digital threats. This shared vulnerability highlights the need for coordinated efforts to develop joint solutions that support secure digital development within Ecuador.

Involvement in these types of events allows the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance to stay informed about current trends and challenges related to cybersecurity. As environments become increasingly interconnected, there is a growing demand for coordination with various actors across the country.
