The Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros has issued a statement clarifying that Casa de Valores SMARTCAPITAL S.A. and SCB SMART CAPITAL C.A. are separate entities with no legal or corporate relationship between them. According to the agency, Casa de Valores SMARTCAPITAL S.A. operates as a service provider in Ecuador’s securities market, while SCB SMART CAPITAL C.A. is a company of a different corporate nature.

Despite the similarity in their names, the Superintendencia emphasized that there is no connection of any kind between the two organizations. “This clarification aims to contribute to adequate information and prevent possible confusion,” stated the Superintendencia.

The regulator also reminded the public that participation in the securities market should be conducted only through duly authorized entities.
