The Internal Revenue Service (SRI) has launched the first edition of its Tax Academy, a virtual and free training program aimed at individuals with advanced knowledge in tax matters.
Alexandra Navarrete, General Director of SRI, stated that the main goal of the Academy is to strengthen technical training on tax issues and to promote access to specialized, reliable, and high-level information for all those involved in the fiscal sector. She emphasized that the course will be offered as self-study through SRI’s Virtual Campus.
The Tax Academy includes three specialized modules: Value Added Tax (VAT), Personal Income Tax, and Corporate Income Tax. The total duration is 120 academic hours, with each module comprising 40 hours. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate issued by SRI.
For this first edition, SRI will offer 1,000 places. Interested candidates must pre-register by February 6, 2026. Preselected applicants will receive an email to complete activities required for admission. Results will be communicated by March 13, 2026 via email.
According to SRI, this initiative brings a more advanced and targeted approach to training in order to promote a fair and responsible tax culture.
