Packaging company Scholle IPN said it is opening a new manufacturing facility in Santiago, Chile, to produce flexible and spouted pouch packaging for institutional and retail markets.

“Scholle IPN has 14 packaging manufacturing sites, two filling equipment manufacturing sites, and four sales offices located across five continents,” Scholle IPN President and CEO Eli Carmeli said in a release. “Our strategy has always been to build and manufacture in locations that best-serve our customers and their markets in an economic and logistically-smart way. The Latin American region has an impressive growth rate, and we identified Chile as a key country and location from which to establish production and service.”

The more than 21,000-square-foot facility includes administrative offices and a warehouse as well as a specialized “clean room” manufacturing environment.

“The additional capacity we are adding in the region also gives our customers a sense of comfort in that we can help them better manage supply risks,” Scholle IPN General Manager of Latin America Ademir Fragnani said in the release.
