The Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, met with Mendoza Governor Alfredo Cornejo as part of a series of meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation between the national and provincial governments. The meeting took place at the provincial government headquarters in Mendoza.
During their discussion, both officials agreed on the need to maintain a joint work agenda between national and provincial authorities. They also addressed the importance of considering labor reform during upcoming extraordinary sessions in the Senate.
Santilli stated, “I do not believe that any governor could be against labor reform in Argentina.” He emphasized that moving forward with new regulations is essential for creating jobs, providing predictability for the productive sector, and supporting economic growth throughout the country.
Cornejo added: “We believe this is an important reform so companies can hire more workers and more people can join the formal economy. It helps generate greater predictability and makes it easier to create jobs. Lowering taxes may mean less revenue in the short term, but the goal is for the economy to grow so that, from that growth, the State can sustain its essential public policies.”
