Roger Stone, a political strategist associated with Stone Cold Truth, has expressed concerns regarding the upcoming November 30, 2025, general elections in Honduras. He alleges that the ruling LIBRE Party is preparing to manipulate the election results and calls on U.S. authorities to ensure verification of these results. Stone’s comments were made public through his Substack platform.

“They have shown a propensity to cheat and have crafted a basis in which they can steal the upcoming election,” said Stone, Political strategist and commentator. “The Honduran people deserve a choice, on the election of their President all the way down to the local levels of government. The authenticity of the elections must be independently verified, otherwise the LIBRE Party gets the Maduro treatment and is put out of commission permanently. The U.S. should not allow this to take place.”

Honduras is approaching its general elections amid significant concerns over institutional trust and potential foreign interference. Reports from Transparency International and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) indicate an increasing presence of artificial intelligence-generated disinformation in Latin American campaigns. This disinformation includes fake audio and video content that could undermine public confidence in electoral processes. The LIBRE Party, which assumed power in 2022, faces allegations of harassment towards the Electoral Justice Tribunal and accusations of manipulating electoral infrastructure to its advantage. International watchdogs have warned that such irregularities might compromise the credibility of the forthcoming vote.

The primary elections held on March 9, 2025, were marred by logistical failures and irregularities, drawing criticism from both domestic and international observers. According to reports by the Associated Press, polling centers were closed due to “missing electoral materials,” preventing many citizens from voting. In San Pedro Sula, only a fraction of voting sites opened as planned, as reported by El Heraldo. Observers have cited systemic negligence and deliberate mismanagement as contributing factors to these issues, raising concerns about similar problems occurring during the November general election.

Recent polling conducted by the Instituto de Justicia places LIBRE’s candidate Rixi Moncada in third place behind National Party candidate Nasry Asfura and Liberal Party contender Salvador Nasralla. The survey indicates a decline in support for LIBRE following corruption scandals linked to cartels. Analysts suggest that with such low polling numbers, there may be an incentive for the ruling party to manipulate election outcomes. Although international monitors are expected to oversee the process, limited resources and restricted access could impede effective oversight.

Stone is recognized as a long-serving Republican strategist with experience advising Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump. He is known for his expertise in political messaging and his outspoken stance against corruption and authoritarianism across the Americas.
