Registered employment rises slightly in Argentina’s commerce and services sector

The Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) reported that the number of registered private sector workers in the Commerce and Services sector increased by 9,723 in August 2025 compared to the same month in 2024. This represents a year-on-year growth rate of 0.2%, according to data from the Secretariat of Labor, Employment and Social Security.

Within this sector, “Commerce and repairs” saw the largest relative increase in employment, with a rise of 1.8% over August 2024. In contrast, “Community, social, and personal services” experienced the most significant decline, with a decrease of 2.1% year-on-year.

Additionally, during the first eight months of 2025, average staffing levels in Commerce and Services rose by 0.3% compared to the same period last year.
