Registered employment in commerce and services sector increases slightly in early 2025

During the first ten months of 2025, registered employment in Argentina’s Commerce and Services sector grew by 0.2% compared to the same period in 2024, according to a report from the Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios (CAC). The analysis is based on data published by the Secretaría de Trabajo, Empleo y Seguridad Social.

The total number of registered salaried workers in the sector reached 4,205,031 during this time frame. This figure represents an increase of 6,841 employees over the previous year.

Looking specifically at October figures, only the “Commerce and repairs” activity showed relative growth within the sector, with a 0.3% rise in its workforce compared to October 2024. On the other hand, “Financial intermediation” experienced the largest decline among activities surveyed, with a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%.
