Prosafe signs three-year contract for Safe Eurus in Brazil

Prosafe recently signed an approximately $164 million contract with Petrobras Netherlands B.V.for the provision of the Safe Eurus semi-submersible vessel for safety and maintenance support offshore Brazil.

The contract begins in Q1 2017 with a firm period commitment of three years. It will be the first for the Safe Eurus, a vessel designed and built to service the Brazilian market. Safe Eurus will be the second Prosafe vessel under charter to Petrobras.

The Safe Eurus harsh environment semi-submersible safety and maintenance support vessel can accommodate up to 500 people with extensive recreation facilities. In addition to a large capacity open deck area and telescopic gangway, the Safe Eurus will provide Petrobras with 300 tonne lift capability.

Prosafe is the world’s leading owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation vessels. Its operating profit reached $248.3 million in 2014 and net profit was $178.8 million. The company operates globally, employs 800 people and is headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus.
