Petrobras has announced the signing of an agreement with Proquigel, a subsidiary of Unigel, to resolve existing contractual disputes and litigations. This development follows a previous announcement made on May 9, 2025.
The agreement requires approval by the Arbitral Tribunal before taking effect, which both parties have already requested.
Under the terms of the agreement, Petrobras will regain control over fertilizer plants in Bahia and Sergipe. The company plans to resume operations through a bidding process for Operation and Maintenance services, adhering to governance practices and internal procedures.
As outlined in its Business Plan for 2025-2029, Petrobras aims to enhance value in its Fertilizer segments by producing and marketing nitrogen products. This initiative aligns with their oil and gas production chain and energy transition goals.
