Paraguay is working to strengthen its relationship with Spain to encourage technological and sustainable investments. As part of this effort, Javier Viveros, Vice Minister of REDIEX, and Natalia Cáceres, Commercial Attaché of the Paraguayan Embassy in Spain, visited ARQUIMEA’s facilities in Madrid. ARQUIMEA is a company known for its work in technological innovation across sectors like aerospace, defense, Fintech, and renewable energy.
During the meeting, Diego Fernández, president and founder of ARQUIMEA, shared details about the company’s main development areas. He also announced plans to establish a green fertilizer plant in Paraguay, focusing on ammonium sulfate production. The investment for this project is estimated at 200 million US dollars.
The decision to pursue this initiative comes after research by ARQUIMEA’s R&D division, which highlighted Paraguay’s potential for sustainable industry development. The planned facility aims to supply Paraguay’s local market and help position the country as a regional exporter of agricultural products with lower environmental impact.
“The arrival of companies like ARQUIMEA represents a firm step toward Paraguay’s green industrialization. Our competitive advantages, such as clean energy and access to water, allow us to attract investments that contribute to positioning the country as a leader in the transition to a low-carbon economy,” said Vice Minister Viveros.
Commercial Attaché Natalia Cáceres added: “the visits to technology and renewable energy companies are aligned with our investment attraction policy, which seeks to boost the national economy and generate quality employment for our compatriots. Paraguay offers unique conditions for the development of sustainable industries, and we are committed to facilitating their arrival.”
This visit is part of ongoing meetings with European companies interested in expanding operations in Latin America, particularly in fields such as technology, energy, industrial innovation, and forestry.
