Paraguay has officially opened its national pavilion at Anuga 2025, a major international food and beverage trade fair in Europe. The event marks a continued effort by Paraguay to strengthen its presence in global markets and promote its agri-food sector.
The opening ceremony was attended by Javier Viveros, Deputy Minister of Rediex, along with representatives from the Paraguayan Embassy in Germany and delegates from 37 Paraguayan companies participating in the exhibition.
Vice Minister Viveros emphasized the importance of this participation for Paraguay’s image abroad. “We are proud to be here at Anuga, supporting those who represent the energy, production, and face of our country. At Rediex, we will continue supporting Paraguayan participation in these types of events, which not only generate business, but also ideas that help us produce more and better in Paraguay,” he said.
Eduardo von Glasenapp from the Embassy of Paraguay highlighted the collaboration between public and private sectors. “This fair is one of the most important in the world for food and beverages, and our participation allows us to showcase Paraguay’s production and export potential to Germany and the world,” he stated.
Paraguay has been present at Anuga since 2005 through its meat sector and expanded its representation to include food and beverage companies in 2011. This year’s pavilion features businesses aiming to reach markets such as Europe, Asia, the United States, the Middle East, and Oceania. Exhibits are organized into four categories: Fine Foods (high-quality foods), Organic Foods, Beverages, and Meat. Products on display include meat, dairy products, fruits, yerba mate, juices, snacks, gourmet items, and organic products.
Anuga hosts over 7,900 exhibitors and attracts approximately 150,000 visitors from around 200 countries each year. For Paraguay’s participants this year’s goal is to surpass USD 110 million in business expectations set for 2023 as they work toward enhancing their reputation as reliable suppliers within international markets.
