A meeting of business leaders from Paraguay and the United Arab Emirates took place at Mburuvicha Róga during the official visit of Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation of the UAE. The event brought together over 40 representatives from Paraguay’s private sector to discuss investment opportunities and ways to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Javier Giménez, Paraguay’s Minister of Industry and Trade, opened the event by stating that “Her Excellency Reem Al Hashim’s visit reaffirms the United Arab Emirates’ interest in deepening a relationship that transcends trade and encompasses investment, innovation, and joint development.” He also pointed out existing trade relations involving agro-industrial exports such as soybeans, corn, and dairy products.
Javier Viveros, Vice Minister of Rediex, presented potential areas for cooperation including food production, tourism, infrastructure, logistics, energy, finance, forestry, and technology. He said that Paraguay offers a favorable environment for investment and is committed to forming alliances aimed at sustainable growth and economic diversification. Viveros noted these goals align with the UAE’s interests in renewable energy, agribusiness, and technology.
Reem Al Hashimy outlined her country’s strategic vision for economic development and international cooperation. President Santiago Peña highlighted the significance of the meeting for bilateral trade relations. He acknowledged “the UAE’s support for Paraguay’s economic development” and stressed “the importance of continuing to build cooperative ties.”
The event included a business forum led by Rediex where sector representatives discussed proposals directly with officials. Roundtable discussions addressed various industry needs and opportunities. Organizers stated that this exchange showcased Paraguay as a strategic partner across multiple sectors.
Officials described this meeting as an important step in advancing Paraguay’s efforts to attract foreign investment and forge partnerships with countries recognized for their focus on innovation and development like the United Arab Emirates.
