More than 300 meetings took place between ambassadors and business leaders on the first day of the III Annual Meeting of Heads of Mission, held at the Central Bank of Paraguay. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, through Rediex.
The meeting is part of a two-day gathering, December 22nd and 23rd, bringing together diplomatic representatives and Paraguayan businesspeople to discuss export opportunities and investment projects. Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment (REDIEX), Javier Viveros, addressed participants in the main auditorium.
“It is an honor and a pleasure to spend an afternoon with the heads of mission, and together we have traveled an interesting path with many challenges. Paraguay has arrived not only to participate, but to be a key player on the world economic stage. We are working together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the institutions linked to this policy of Paraguay to the World,” said Viveros.
After opening remarks, attendees participated in networking sessions focused on trade promotion and investment projects. Over 40 diplomatic representatives met with about 50 Paraguayan businesspeople using a format that allowed for more than 350 brief meetings in under three hours. Discussions centered on current exportable goods as well as ongoing investment initiatives.
Registered exporters represented sectors such as agribusiness, frozen foods, beverages, yerba mate, dairy products, orthopedic implants, gluten-free foods, organic moringa powder, and cassava-based spirits. Project developers presented plans related to hydroponic agriculture, renewable energy, forestry development, health services, entertainment ventures, and creative industries.
Ambassadors used these sessions to identify opportunities relevant to their assigned countries. Many scheduled follow-up discussions for 2026 in order to strengthen ties with Paraguayan businesses.
Earlier in the day President Santiago Peña and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rubén Ramírez reviewed foreign policy achievements and set strategic priorities for 2026. They emphasized coordinated diplomatic and economic efforts aimed at increasing Paraguay’s presence internationally.
