The Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society has opened a public consultation for its Institutional Regulatory Plan 2026. The initiative seeks input from various members of society to improve the draft version of the plan.

This consultation process is being carried out in accordance with a national policy that was declared by the President of the Republic, which aims to ensure proper regulatory management by government bodies. The policy also focuses on improving quality of life, encouraging competitiveness and entrepreneurship, promoting economic efficiency, and guaranteeing transparency and legal security in the country.

Additionally, the process aligns with Ministerial Agreement No. MPCEIP-MPCEIP-2024-0079-A, issued on October 17, 2024. This agreement sets out rules for implementing the state’s regulatory improvement policy. Article 11 of this agreement states: “The purpose of public consultation is to ensure that the regulatory body has as much information as possible provided by those regulated and that these parties understand the problem, options to address it, possible compliance mechanisms, associated benefits, impacts and risks.”

Contributions collected during this participatory process will be reviewed and may be included in the final version of MINTEL’s Institutional Regulatory Plan 2026.

Members of the public can submit their feedback until Monday, February 11, 2026. Submissions can be made through an online form or via Plataforma diálogo 2.0.
