Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport opens bidding for three new bridges in Sucumbíos

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) has announced the start of the bidding process for the construction of three vehicular bridges over the Shushufindi, La Norte, and Quilindaña rivers in Sucumbíos. This project is part of the Emergency Resilient Reconstruction Project, which is funded by the World Bank.

According to MIT, this infrastructure aims to improve mobility in Sucumbíos by providing safer and more reliable transportation routes that can withstand local climate variations.

The bidding will follow a single-envelope National Competitive Bidding procedure in line with World Bank Procurement Regulations.

Key dates for interested parties include a site visit on December 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Shushufindi river bridge location. An informational meeting will be held on December 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM in MIT’s Multipurpose Room. Offers must be submitted by January 5, 2026, no later than 2:00 PM at MIT offices. The public opening of bids will take place immediately after submissions close. Electronic submissions are not permitted.
