The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture has announced an extension for enrollment in the intensive Technical Baccalaureate program (EPJA TEC) for the Sierra–Amazonía region. The new deadline for registration is December 12, 2025.
The EPJA TEC program targets young people, adults, and seniors who have not completed their schooling. According to the ministry, this educational offer aims to improve employability by providing technical training linked to productive sectors. The goal is to support personal, professional, and social development for those seeking to finish their studies and enhance job opportunities.
The curriculum is organized around a catalog of professional profiles. It includes three technical areas: Artistic; Sports and Health; and Technical. There are eight professional families such as Design; Health and Service; Agriculture; Sustainable Construction; Industrial; Technologies; Administrative and Financial; and Tourism. In total, 22 professional profiles are available for technical training.
Eligibility is limited to individuals aged 18 or older who have not started or wish to complete their high school education. Applicants must present valid identification—such as a national ID card, passport, refugee card, or temporary code—and certificates from post-literacy modules or corresponding grades from basic general education.
If applicants do not have academic records, they may request a placement exam from the local education district.
For more information or assistance with enrollment, interested individuals can contact Citizen Services at (02) 3961300, (02) 3961400, (02) 3961500 or 1800 EDUCACIÓN. Afterward, they should visit one of the twelve participating educational institutions across eight provinces to submit required documents. The program is free of charge.
The EPJA TEC offering lasts 100 days per academic cycle over an 18-month period. This includes eight weeks of pedagogical leveling in the technical area.
Students attend classes from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with both in-person attendance and synchronous activities. Teacher-led tutorials run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., mandatory for teachers but optional for students.
“The Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture reaffirms its commitment to educational inclusion and expanding training opportunities for youth and adults. Citizens are invited to take advantage of this free offer that contributes to comprehensive development and strengthening skills for the labor market,” said the ministry in its statement.
