The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture’s Zonal Coordination 7 has provided new technology equipment to 26 schools in the Zapotillo district, located in Loja province. The equipment delivered includes projectors, speakers, and laptops.
This initiative is part of a national program aimed at narrowing the digital divide and updating teaching environments. The program seeks to give teachers and students access to multimedia resources that enhance classroom learning.
Favio Villamizar, zonal coordinator for MINEDUC, stated: “The delivery of this equipment not only represents an improvement in physical infrastructure but also an evolution in the didactic methodology for our students. As a Government, our commitment is to continue improving the quality of education and today we are here to make it a reality.”
Emily Cueva, a student from Unidad Educativa Barón de Humboldt, expressed gratitude for the new tools. “This delivery will allow us to strengthen our classes; now we will have tools that we will undoubtedly know how to take advantage of in the best way,” she said.
In addition, during the blooming season of guayacanes trees in Zapotillo canton, students and teachers from Unidad Educativa Barón de Humboldt presented their work on an environmental reforestation project called “Los Guayacanes.” This project promotes environmental awareness and tourism in the border region.
Yojani Rueda, leader at the educational institution, commented: “Our students feel motivated by the work being done in this project; what matters is contributing to their development and raising awareness about the importance of caring for our nature.”
