The Plenary of the Judicial Council (Consejo de la Judicatura) sanctioned five public officials from four provinces during its ordinary session No. 103-2025 held on November 18, 2025.

According to the council, Judge L.M.G.A., who serves in the Civil, Commercial, Family, Women, Children and Adolescents Chamber of the Provincial Court of Justice of Chimborazo, received three sanctions for unjustified delays in service delivery. For each case, a sanction equivalent to 10% of her monthly salary was imposed.

Judge C.V.A.T., from the Sole Multicompetent Chamber of the Provincial Court of Justice of Esmeraldas, was suspended for 15 days without pay for failing to properly justify a ruling related to an extraordinary protection action.

Pichincha prosecutor S.B.P.M. received a written reprimand for not recording attendance over five days in August 2024.

Orellana prosecutor A.E.A.P. was also given a written reprimand for not providing effective technical direction during a criminal investigation involving controlled substances.

Notary M.A.N.S., the fifty-first notary of Quito canton, certified seven electronic documents as true copies without following the required legal procedures for materialization. The council issued a written reprimand in this case as well.

These actions are part of ongoing efforts by Ecuador’s Judicial Council to enforce discipline among judicial officials and ensure proper conduct within the judiciary system.
