In a recent meeting held in Tokyo, Paraguay’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Javier Giménez, along with the Commercial Attaché in Japan, Paola Subeldía Blasco, engaged with senior executives from two prominent Japanese companies: House Foods Group and Vox Trading. These companies are key players in Japan’s food industry.

House Foods Group is known for its extensive history of over 110 years and its globally recognized brands. The company exports to more than 120 countries. Vox Trading specializes in food engineering and integrates the value chain from agricultural production to international marketing.

Both companies have shown interest in setting up a food processing plant in Paraguay. This would represent their first direct investment venture into South America. They pointed out several advantages offered by Paraguay, including access to raw materials, macroeconomic stability, and potential for exports.

This development indicates that Paraguay is strengthening its role as a strategic location for major international agroindustrial companies seeking expansion opportunities.
