The InvestChile Seminar, set for January 14 in Santiago, will focus on the outlook for foreign investment in 2026. The event is organized by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and will bring together international experts and sector representatives to discuss trends and challenges in global investment.
William Maloney, Chief Economist for the Latin America and Caribbean region at the World Bank, will lead the seminar. He is expected to address macroeconomic forecasts and factors influencing investment flows into the region over the coming years.
Two panel discussions are planned. The first panel, titled “Women Leaders and Key Industry Perspectives on Global Challenges,” will feature leaders from sectors such as mining, energy, infrastructure, and finance. Participants include Amparo Cornejo of Teck Resources; Pilar Concha of ACAFI; Ana Lía Rojas of ACERA; and Gloria Hutt of COPSA.
A second panel called “Foreign Investment Scenarios and Trends” will examine international financial conditions with input from investment funds and consulting firms. Speakers include Oltmann Ahlers from Manova Partners (Germany), José Mestres from Patria Investments (Brazil), and Macarena Navarrete from EY Chile (UK).
Karla Flores, director of InvestChile, will open the seminar. According to organizers, “the InvestChile Seminar aims to be a space for high-level dialogue regarding the context faced by global investment flows in 2026.” They note that this comes at a time when “the international economy [is] marked by geopolitical challenges, productive transformations and the acceleration of the digital and energy transition.” The event seeks to offer strategic insights into global investment trends as well as Chile’s position within these changes.
