British Columbia’s Urban Cultivator, Inc. is now in the Central American hydroponic gardening equipment arena due to its Panama distributor.
“It’s a big step for our company,” Urban Cultivator CEO Tarren Wolfe said. “We have had many international investors inquiring about establishing similar partnerships. We’re looking forward to continuing to grow this segment of our business so we can reach a broader audience.”
The distributor will look to increase the presence of Urban Hyrdroponics’ products, which includes indoor gardening equipment. Twenty Urban commercial units and four Urban residential units have been created, and a Living Produce Aisle Store is scheduled to open in early 2016. The store will be similar to the company’s main store in Vancouver.
“We’re excited to be a part of the solution to Panama’s lack of fresh, locally grown produce,” Tamima Issa, co-owner of the Living Produce Store, said. “By bringing Urban Cultivator into the region, it gives us the opportunity to take advantage of Central America’s rapidly growing economy, as well as to lower our collective energy footprint and offer our customers a way to save on microgreens.”
Urban Cultivator, Inc. is owned by Urban Hydroponics, Inc., a Nevada-based corporation.
