Grupo Alianza del Acero has officially opened its new industrial headquarters at kilometer 12 in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. The company is the result of a merger between Aço Pará from Brazil and CIE from Paraguay.
The facility will operate under the maquila regime, which aims to encourage regional productive integration and make Ciudad del Este a key location for export-oriented industry. Grupo Alianza del Acero will focus on processing and transforming steel, which is expected to help expand the industrial value chain in eastern Paraguay, create formal jobs, and promote technical knowledge transfer within the metallurgical sector.
CIE SA is a Paraguayan company with more than four decades of experience and holds a license for the Paraguay Country Brand. It has been involved in projects related to electrical, industrial, naval, and electromechanical infrastructure. Aço Pará brings its background in steel production and marketing from Brazil to this new partnership.
The inauguration event included local officials such as Mayor Daniel Mujica; Carina Daher, President of the Paraguayan Chamber of Maquiladora Companies (CEMAP); Noelia González Bruera, Border Zone Coordinator of Rediex; along with businesspeople and suppliers from both local and international backgrounds.
According to Grupo Alianza del Acero, “With this new stage, Grupo Alianza del Acero reaffirms its commitment to the development of Alto Paraná and projects itself as a benchmark of quality and service in the steel industry, strengthening Paraguay’s industrial capacity and technological innovation.”
