The Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society has opened a new free Digital Access Point (PDG) in Manantial de Chanduy, located in the parish of Chanduy, Santa Elena province. The facility aims to provide local residents with access to digital tools, training courses, and online government services.
The new center offers high-quality internet access at no cost to users as well as training opportunities and online public services. It is equipped with ten computers for community use.
With this addition in Santa Elena province, there are now 20 such centers operating locally. These facilities are part of an effort to expand technological resources for people of all ages across Ecuador.
Nationally, since November 2023 there have been 986 Digital Access Points established throughout the country. These centers have recorded over 10 million visits and provided more than 571 thousand training sessions during that period.
The Ministry emphasized its ongoing commitment to supporting citizens’ needs through initiatives aimed at improving digital infrastructure and access.
