The 2025 edition of the International Festival of Living Arts of Loja (FIAVLoja) concluded with high attendance and significant investment from the Ecuadorian government. The event, which ran from November 13 to 23, saw a total of 163,162 attendees across 313 scheduled activities. The festival was organized through collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture and the Municipality of Loja.

President Daniel Noboa allocated approximately $1.35 million to support this year’s festival, reflecting a continued governmental commitment to cultural initiatives in Ecuador. Over eleven days, Loja became a focal point for artistic creation and attracted participants and audiences both nationally and internationally.

This year’s festival coincided with the declaration of 2025 as the Ibero-American Year of Performing Arts across 22 countries. Chile participated as the guest of honor, joining representatives from another 17 countries and the European Union.

A total of 116 groups—including national, international, and local ensembles—performed 125 artistic works during the festival. The event involved more than 6,300 people working in various roles such as artists, technicians, managers, and students participating in allegorical parades.

According to organizers, “the FIAVLoja Festival has become a milestone for living arts in Ecuador and the region.” All planned components were carried out as scheduled, including international showcases, national programs, municipal events, youth activities, educational workshops under FIAVLab-Escuela del Festival, the National Program ‘Camino a Loja’, and health-related art projects under Salud+Arte.

Key partners supporting this edition included organizations such as the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), Institute for Promotion of Arts Innovation and Creativity (IFAIC), Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), Inter-institutional Technical Committee for the Festival de Loja, accredited diplomatic corps in Ecuador, and private sector companies.

The festival concluded on Sunday night with a performance by Chilean group Los Nadie Circo at Teatro Benjamín Carrión.
