Codelco announced that production has resumed in the Dacita sector of its El Teniente division during the week of November 3 to 9, following the necessary authorizations for a safe return to operations. The company described this as an important milestone for maintaining operational continuity at El Teniente. This recovery comes after transport operations were restored in the Pacífico Superior area, where more than 100,000 tons have been moved since repairs to the transport route.

The Safe and Progressive Restart Plan remained active throughout the week, with an average of 11,343 workers on shifts A and C. Of these, 3,109 entered the mine. The Concentrator Plant operated with SAG lines 1 and 2, while the smelter processed 2,601 tons of concentrate daily and produced 501 metric tons of fine copper per day.

Grinding operations averaged 89,900 tons per day. Out of this total, 82,600 tons were sent to the Colón plant and another 7,300 tons went to the Sewell plant.

Regarding regulatory inspections, Codelco reported receiving 81 requests from various services and authorities; it has responded to 55 so far. The remaining requests are being addressed within established deadlines.

The company stated it continues to provide support and information to families of deceased workers as part of its Assistance Plan. Safety measures have also been reinforced through reflection sessions led by Claudio Sougarret, general manager of El Teniente, together with supervisors and workers from partner companies.

An event was held featuring Team Chile athlete Marco Grimalt who met with members of El Teniente’s executive committee as well as Codelco employees and contractors from the Plants Management department “to reinforce the value of collaboration and safe work behaviors.”

On an international level, Codelco signed a cooperation agreement with Western Australia School of Mines aimed at advancing research in deep underground mining. The agreement includes technical information exchange and formation of joint teams between Chile and Australia.
