A series of activities aimed at improving educational conditions took place in El Carmen, focusing on expanding pedagogical and technological resources, inspecting infrastructure projects, and engaging with the school community.
At Carlos Vélez Verduga Educational Unit, computers, furniture, and teaching materials were delivered to enhance learning spaces. The investment totals nearly $100,000 and benefits over 1,400 students.
The items provided include 17 computers for the computer lab, 450 sets of school furniture, didactic materials for early education, 45 whiteboards, 45 desks with chairs for teachers, 29 computer tables, as well as cleaning supplies and other institutional aids.
Officials also visited Heriberto Rodríguez Educational Unit to review progress on ongoing infrastructure works. These projects involve building a perimeter wall, rainwater drainage systems, electrical maintenance, classroom improvements, upgrades to sanitary facilities, and work on the septic tank. The investment amounts to $81,934 to ensure safer and more functional spaces.
Additionally, authorities participated in the solemn session marking the 55th anniversary of El Carmen Educational Unit. During the ceremony, teachers who have made significant contributions to student development and local education were recognized.
Maximiliano Núñez Tomaselli, Zonal Coordinator for Education, Sports and Culture (Zone 4), emphasized the value of these visits in identifying needs and strengthening educational services. “Each visit allows us to listen to the community and move forward with real solutions. Our commitment is to ensure that institutions have dignified conditions so that students can learn, grow and develop fully,” he said.
These efforts demonstrate an ongoing commitment by authorities to improve infrastructure and provide better resources while supporting community processes that drive educational development in the region.
