Eduardo Mizón has announced his resignation as General Manager of Sodimac Chile, effective December 31, 2025. Mizón informed the company’s Board of Directors that he plans to step down after nearly two decades in the role and over thirty years with the company. After leaving his position, he will continue to support the transition by assisting his successor until June 30, 2026.
Sodimac’s Chairman, Juan Pablo del Río, commented on Mizón’s departure: “We are deeply grateful for his valuable contribution to Sodimac’s growth and transformation. Over the years, the company has continued to strengthen its leadership in the home improvement and construction products market, developing new physical and digital capabilities to enhance our customers’ experience. Eduardo has always been closely connected to the business and deeply committed to the people who make it possible. We appreciate the way he has led the company—with a high-performance profile and strong results. He has successfully balanced Sodimac’s growth with sustainable development.”
Sandro Solari, former Corporate General Manager of Sodimac and current board member, also recognized Mizón’s impact: “Eduardo Mizón is an exceptional leader who transformed Sodimac. I had the opportunity to work alongside him for many years and can say without a doubt that he is an outstanding executive: strategic, charismatic, and effective. He has consistently shown deep respect for people, fostering trust and focusing on both customers and employees. He is highly committed to exceeding customer expectations and developing new leaders. We are profoundly grateful for his invaluable contributions over all these years.”
Mizón joined Sodimac more than three decades ago and held several positions across commercial operations, development, research, division management, and operations for multiple business segments. Between 2013 and 2014, he chaired Acción Empresas—a group focused on sustainability—and participated in other initiatives such as CEOs for Inclusion, United Nations Global Compact, and Fundación Carlos Vial Espantoso.
During Mizón’s tenure as General Manager since August 2006, Sodimac Chile experienced notable sales growth—from about US$1.3 billion in 2005 to US$2.2 billion by late 2024—despite challenges within the construction sector in recent years. The company achieved record revenue of US$3.45 billion in 2021; sales reached US$1.271 billion during the first half of 2025.
Operational efficiency also improved during this period; monthly sales per square meter increased from US$281 in 2005 to a peak of US$416 per square meter in 2021.
