The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture (MINEDEC) has entered into a cooperation agreement with the National Telecommunications Corporation (CNT EP), a public entity under the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society. The agreement aims to support the digital identification strategy and enhance the recognition of teachers and administrative staff in Ecuador’s public education system.

Under this partnership, CNT EP will provide exclusive benefits on mobile phone services according to specific plan terms. The arrangement does not involve any direct financial investment from the government, as these incentives are offered by CNT EP as part of its role as a strategic partner.

A total of 183,253 individuals, including teachers and administrative personnel, are expected to benefit from non-monetary incentives that aim to improve their well-being and reinforce their social recognition within the education sector.

The agreement is set for two years with an option for renewal. It also marks CNT EP as the 58th strategic partner nationwide in MINEDEC’s policy focused on valuing educational professionals.

“The Government, led by President Daniel Noboa Azín, reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the teaching profession, strengthening institutions, and promoting benefits that improve the quality of life for those involved in the country’s public education system,” according to an official statement.
