The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture (MINEDEC) in Ecuador has announced the start of the registration process for 54 public technological institutes and higher conservatories. This process is part of the first academic period of 2026 for the Costa and Insular regions.

Registration is required for young people who have completed the National Registry, as well as for those seeking professional training at a higher level. Registration will be open from December 18 to December 22 on the website www.registrounicoedusup.gob.ec.

According to MINEDEC, technical and technological programs are designed with a practical approach, helping graduates enter the job market more easily.

Alongside registration, there is also an optional phase to complete the Social Registry. This allows applicants to provide socioeconomic and demographic information. Completing this form may grant additional affirmative action points based on socioeconomic status. The Social Registry form will be available from December 18 to December 27, but only those who have not previously registered their information and have received a notification from the Social Registry Unit (URS) by email before December 16 need to fill it out.

Applicants interested in public universities or polytechnic schools should check each institution’s admission processes since these follow their own schedules and procedures.

“With these actions, President Daniel Noboa’s government guarantees transparent management and equitable access to higher education opportunities,” said MINEDEC.
