Credicorp has announced the fourth edition of its initiative, VOCES por la Participación Ciudadana, aimed at engaging young people in Latin America to foster citizen participation. The initiative invites youths aged 18 to 32 from Peru, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, and Panama to submit ideas that leverage digitalization to enhance community involvement and transparency in public resource management.

Gianfranco Ferrari, CEO of Credicorp, emphasized the importance of youth involvement: “Since we created VOCES, the response of the youths has been overwhelming: almost 6,500 ideas have been heard. This shows that young people know that their role in accelerating the changes our countries need is fundamental.”

The initiative has seen significant participation since its inception in 2022, with over 11,000 submissions from young individuals across the participating countries. The Evaluation Committee for this year includes notable figures such as Mariana Costa from Laboratoria (Peru), David Gereda from One Young World (Colombia), Allison Silva from Emprender Futuro Foundation (Bolivia), Ariel Gringaus from Colegium (Chile), Nicole Lasso from Red Nacional de Rincones Clubhouse – PNUD (Panamá), and Gianfranco Ferrari himself.

Mariana Costa highlighted the potential impact of youth contributions: “VOCES recognizes the transformative power of young ideas in Latin America. From my experience…we need your input.”

The top three proposals will receive a $15,000 prize each and an opportunity for a representative to attend the One Young World Summit 2026. Participants will also gain access to expert mentoring.

Xilene Cerquera, a previous winner in 2024, shared her experience: “Being part of VOCES has been a transformative experience…Today I invite every young person to trust their voice.”

Applications are open until July 23 on vocescredicorp.com.
