Codelco held its fourth Work Table with Contractor Companies in Rancagua last week as part of its ongoing plan for a safe return to operations. The meeting included representatives from eleven contractor companies, Codelco’s corporate manager of Management, Supervision and Relations with Contractor Companies, Juan Luis Trejo, and divisional representatives. The participants discussed key challenges and progress related to safety and the gradual restart of operations.
An internal investigative commission was formed following a bus accident involving 48 workers from the company Link. Orlando Silva, Services Manager of the Andina Division, will lead this commission.
During the past week, milling processing averaged 90,900 tons per day across Sewell and Colón. Of this total, 86,700 tons per day were sent to the Colón plant and 7,100 tons to Sewell. At the plant level, SAG1 and SAG2 lines are operating while both Conventional and Unitary mills remain stopped due to low mineral supply and maintenance.
In smelting operations, Convertidor Teniente 2 (CT2) and Gas Cleaning Plant No. 2 (PLG2) continue without incident. Convertidor Teniente 1 (CT1) and Gas Cleaning Plant No. 1 (PLG1) are undergoing monthly maintenance. The company achieved a daily concentrate fusion of 2,587 tons on average during the period and molded an average of 489 metric tons per day.
There are currently 71 requirements from various supervisory services and authorities; so far, Codelco has responded to 51 of these requests while continuing to process the remainder within established deadlines. Support for families of deceased workers also continues through information sharing and assistance.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to safety and collaboration with contractors throughout these processes.
